Let’s start dreaming of sunshine and bare feet…
It’s officially time to start thinking summer—and that means it’s time to talk about summer session style! Whether you’re headed to the beach, your favorite sun-soaked field, or just want to capture the magic of your family in the golden light, summer sessions have a vibe all their own.
What makes summer so special?It’s the lush greens, the warm golden glow, and that feeling of freedom that comes with longer days and slower evenings. Summer sessions are laid-back, playful, and full of sun-kissed moments that make for the dreamiest photos.
What to Wear for Summer Sessions
For Dad
Summer is one of the only times I’ll say yes to shorts—but only if we’re shooting on the beach. Otherwise, I always recommend sticking with lightweight pants for a more polished look in photos. Think breezy linen or soft cotton blends in earth tones, sage, or light khaki.
For Mom
This is your time to shine in a flowy dress. Summer welcomes a little more color, but let’s still steer clear of neons. Look for soft prints, summer florals, stripes, and light, breathable fabrics like linen or gauze.Some of my favorite pieces this season are from Indie Blue—their summer line is packed with romantic, effortless pieces perfect for golden hour.
Accessories
Keep it light and fun! Strappy sandals, stacked bracelets, and accent rings are always a yes. These little details add so much personality to your final gallery and help tell the full story of your family’s style.
