What to Expect During a Mini Session

Fast-paced. Full of fun. And perfectly bite-sized.

Mini sessions are the perfect way to capture beautiful family memories in a short and sweet timeframe. Whether you're updating family portraits, celebrating a milestone, or simply want a few new shots of your kiddos—mini sessions are a quick, fun option with big impact.

If you’ve never done a mini before (or even if you have!), here’s exactly what to expect:

Timing Is Everything

Mini sessions are booked back to back, which means every slot is timed to the minute. Sessions typically last around 10–15 minutes, so being on time is super important! I recommend arriving at least 10 minutes early to give yourself time to walk to the location, find me, and get settled. I’ll be ready to grab you at go-time so we can jump right in!

The Flow of the Session

We move fast, but we make it count.

Here’s the usual flow:

📸 We’ll start with individual shots of the kids

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Then we’ll get that classic “everyone smiling at the camera” family photo

🎉 From there, we dive into fun prompts and playful moments—tickles, snuggles, walking hand-in-hand, and more

Because of the time constraints, we won’t have space for extensive detail shots or deeper storytelling moments, but don’t worry—I’ve got plenty of tricks up my sleeve to bring out those genuine smiles and real moments, especially from little ones.

Got a Must-Have Pose? Tell Me!

As your session wraps up, I always ask if there’s a specific shot you had your heart set on or feel like we may have missed. If there’s something you really want captured, don’t be shy—let me know during your session!

After the Session

The next morning, you’ll receive an email with everything you need to know:

• What to expect next

• How to download your gallery

• Where to print your images

📱 Sneak peeks are posted on Instagram as I begin editing, so keep an eye out!

🖼️ Final galleries are delivered within 4 weeks, and you’ll always have the opportunity to purchase more:

• Extra images: $25 per photo

• Full gallery upgrade: Usually around $150 (based on total image count)
